Love Me For Myself

I could paint my picture with a thousand words
but that won't be fair to you and me
Because you won't get to find out for yourself
the person that is me within my heart.
I could play the game and be the perfect girl
that you have been looking for all this time ...
But it's not my style because I want you
to love me despite my flaws.
I could dazzle you with sparkling conversations
and my wacky sense of humor
But it would only show you my mind and not my heart.
And so I want to take the chance with you
and show you the vulnerabilities of my heart
Hoping that you would love and cherish me
the way I am and for who I am -
The love of your life.
