Mother, I remember so many times
When I would put my tiny hand in yours
And I would see through my 5-year-old eyes
A glimpse of a big scary world
But you had such a way of making
Me feel so very secure and loved
You had a tendency to stop my crying
Through just the tenderness of your hug
So now Mother, I just want to say
Thank you for being there for me
During the times my world seemed so dark
You showed me the beauty my life could bring
Thank you for giving me so much hope
When the pain seemed too much to bear
And for all the times you made me laugh
For all the love and joy you shared
So now I can share your endless joy
And all the love you gave to me
With the little one that now holds my hand
And I know that she will always see
The unconditional love I have for her
And she'll always have the support she needs
I know when her eyes take upon this world
She'll be blessed with the strength you've given me
Now I pass all your love and strength to my child
Because of you Mom, I know I can be
